Are you ready for your summer travels? Going away for 4th of July? We are going to Newport Beach for the 4th and the thing I love most about summer weekend beach trips is that it seems so much easier to pack! The clothes are lighter and less bulky and everything is colorful, just begging to be worn on the beach! Day beachwear can turn into an outfit for dinner on a patio and there are so many cute summer dresses for strolling on the boardwalk and for watching fireworks!
For weekend trips, there are a few beach essentials I must have with me to feel comfortable when away from home. Of course, you need your favorite shades and hat to keep cool. A chic Turkish towel is great for a beach blanket, pillow, or even used as a sarong. And they are super light-weight and will take up little space in your weekend bag. A few cover-ups and summer dresses can easily go from day to night, with a change of sandals and jewelry. I like to have at least two swimsuits to mix up and wear with the cover-ups. For shoes, three pairs including flip flops, sandals, and summer flats should be plenty of options for a weekend away.
As for products, I am very picky about sunscreen so I find tiny sample or travel sizes to bring with me and always bring after-sun soothing aloe for night. If there is room, I also love to bring an island-scented body wash; smelling like coconut after you leave the beach always makes me happy! It is also a great time to reduce the products in your makeup and toiletry bag. For hair, try using a salt-water spray or dry shampoo. No one really wants to use a hairdryer and straightener at the beach!
Well I am ready for the beach and can’t wait for the 4th!

Tote – Sandals, Flip Flops, and Wedges, Accessories, and Technology (Cords, Phone, Speakers, iPad, etc.)
Toiletry Bag – Sunscreen, Makeup, Daily Products, Dry Shampoo, Aloe, and Vitamins
EXTRAS for the 4th — Sparklers, Fun Nail Polish Colors, Red Espadrilles, Old Navy Flag Tanks, Anchor-inspired clothing, White Linens, and my fav Red, White, and Blue Cut-off Shorts
